General rules:

All guesses must be submitted as replies to the official "Guesses" thread.

Up to three (3) guesses can be made per reply. This is to prevent bozos from trying to post an entire dictionary in one reply hoping to get a hit.

There is no limit to the number of replies (with up to three (3) guesses each) you can make. Any blatant attempt to spam the thread with random guesses will result in the user being banned. If you have a funny or witty guess, by all means feel free to post it. We really want this to be a fun contest, we just don't want users trying to mess it up.

The first person to reply with an exact match will win the contest. For example, if the item being microwaved is a grape, you must guess "grape." A guess of "fruit" would not be considered an exact match. Generally speaking, you do not need to give specific attributes such as color (we don't care if it's a red or green grape), you just need to unambiguously identify the item.

We (Chan and Derek) reserve the right to decide which guess qualifies as a winning guess.

We will not answer any questions about the item.

If no one guesses the item after a period of time, we will begin to offer hints at our discretion.

Do not e-mail guesses to us. We will only recognize replies to the official "Guesses" thread.

The winner will be paid either by PayPal -or- cash by USPS mail. The choice is up to the winner. If the winner chooses cash, it will be paid out as $US. We will not convert currency to any other currency. If the winner chooses cash, they understand that it will be mailed by standard USPS mail. There is no insurance or guaranteed delivery. If you do not receive your $US by mail, we are sorry, but there is nothing we can or will do about it. We really prefer PayPal.

This (and future) contest(s) are purely for fun. If we get any crap for it, we will just discontinue any future contests. We don't want to hear whining about "Hey, my guess was close enough, I should have won," blah, blah, blah.

Please note that you cannot rely on the "watch this thread" feature to monitor the hints threads because e-mail notification is not reliable. Instead, sign up for our mailing list .

If you do not agree to these rules, do not participate.

This contest is free to all participants. We reserve the right to stop or discontinue this or any of our contests for any reason. Any cancelled contest is terminated immediately and there would be no winner in that situation.
